Greylands Prince Philip, a striking Irish Draught born in 2021, this young stallion is a product of a distinguished lineage, with his sire being the Class 1 Greylands Hornpipe and his dam, the Class 1 Heathercombe Moonlight Magic, who is noted for being a premium Hornby select mare. Prince Philip is full brother to Class 1 Stallion Greylands Billy The Kid and Class 1 Mare Greylands Pipedream, which all three horses showcase the strength and consistency of quality within this bloodline.
Prince Philip exemplifies the ideal temperament that is so desired amongst horse breeders—trainable, spirited, and eager to learn. His genetic heritage is a valuable asset to the Irish Draught breed, particularly as he directly represents the rare and nearly extinct foundation line of Woodranger (RID 24), dating back to 1898. Looking ahead, Greylands Prince Philip is set to be presented for inspection in April 2026. We are thrilled with his first foals, they are strong, correct and have very chilled out temperament's.
Prince has recently returned from being broken to ride, taking everything in stride. He is now on a break to focus on his stallion duties, preparing for a return to ridden work scheduled for autumn.
With his promising future and strong pedigree, Prince Philip is poised to make a meaningful impact on the Irish Draught breed.
