VISITING MARES
We welcome a limited number of mares to board with us during the stud season, we only have a maximum availability of 4-5 mares at any one time, this enables personalised care and to make sure the individual needs are met during their stay at the stud.

Each mare has a spacious stable set within a barn environment and individual turnout.

Artificial Insemination of either a mare showing in heat for natural cycle AI or that has been scanned by a vet and is ready for inseminating. The semen can be from either one of our stallions or from an outside stallion of your choice.
Can my mare be covered naturally?
At our stud we aren't able to offer natural coverings due to the risk involved in potentially injuring the stallion, we do however offer a "Natural AI Cycle" for mares that come to the stud. Natural cycle AI is no different from a live covering apart from it removes the risk of any injuries to both Stallion or Mare. The stallion in collected from on our dummy mare and then the mare is then inseminated immediately after the collection. There is no extra cost incurred like with traditional artificial insemination, you only pay the livery & the stud fee.

Mares will either arrive to stud showing in season or can be teased into season with our small teaser stallion. The mare will then be inseminated with fresh semen as she would naturally but without the risk of the live cover. Insemination will be carried out either by a visiting vet or onsite AI Tech. Mares can then go home to have their 14 day pregnancy scan or stay at stud. There will be no extra vet/AI cost, you will only pay the stud fee & livery (14 day pregnancy scan will be at the mare owners expense if staying at stud).
